The youth of today look, talk, act and think differently from their parents. The fact is that every generation is influenced by different things and today's influences such as the internet, mobile phones, television and magazines have provided young people with a hoard of information that their parents would never have had unchaperoned access to.
The easy and unfettered access to all sorts of information gives knowledge, but rarely moral direction.
Information overload and constant exposure to negativity can cause a major impact on thoughts and actions. Many believe that teenagers today lack the maturity to sift through this overflow of negative influences. How true is this?
The education system teaches information and facts to young people. Discipline and the courtesy of good manners is no longer part of the teaching responsibility. Do you think that it would be better to have a well mannered and courteous young person as compared to one who knows which city has the tallest building?
Ask yourself this question. Are you self disciplined? Or do you bow down to peer pressure?
Take this scenario:
Shannon needs to revise for her year 9 sats. Lauren calls her and asked her to go out. Shannon knows that they both need to revise, what should she do.
